Cars are no longer are sold with  stationary hood ornaments after lawsuits held their manufactureres liable for injuries suffered from such ornaments when the injury would not have happend without the ornament being there. Current hood ornamaents are of the breakaway style.V.

Manufacturers and sellers of vending machines have been sued successfully for not telling purchasers to attach the machines to a wall during placement, since the machines have toppled  over and crushed individuals  when the machines were jossled for not returning   product or proper change.
