CASE 4

Case 4

The owner of a Labrador mix dog took it to a famous veterinarian in California for treatment of a sizure disorder.  After spending thousands of dollars on care, the animal died.  The Veterinarian was sued for malpractice.  He argued that dogs have no value, other than what we pay for them as pets, and therefore,  that the dog owner should be awarded no more money than the replacement cost for the dog.

The jury decided:

A.  For the veterinarian.
B.  For the dog owner.

If for the dog owner, how huch was the damage award?

C.$25.00.
D.$39,000.
E.$10,000.
F.$250.00.
